Well, Governor Holcomb made the announcement that I assumed that we would see eventually…to shut down the state for two weeks, starting at midnight tonight. Pretty much every state around us had made that conclusion, so I figured it was only a matter of time until we fell suit as well.
Beginning tomorrow, only “essential” businesses are going to be open. Healthcare clinics are considered essential, chiropractic care included. From what I understand, it’s falling upon the owner of each clinic to decide if they will stay open or temporarily close. I have made the decision to remain open.
The reason is simple – many of our patients depend on chiropractic care in order to avoid needing help from the medical doctors. If these patients did not have chiropractic care available to them, these individuals would strain the hospitals even further than we’ve seen already.
To the patients that are holding off on further care until we are clear to interact in our communities again, I understand your cautions. Our office is committed to staying in touch with you as we go along, and I’m looking forward to seeing you again…hopefully sooner rather than later.
To our patients continuing to receive care during the shutdown, know that I am fully committed to sanitizing this office to the best of my ability. This will remain a safe healing environment for all patients.
